Information we use
When you create an account, our sign-in provider handles account credentials and supplies us with information such as your email address, name, and profile image when provided. We use an account identifier to connect your account to your learning activity.
Polyfy stores lesson progress, completion dates, streak information and learning goals to show your activity and sync it between devices. Without an account, progress may be tied to a random session identifier stored on your device. Your device may also store preferences and practice history locally.
When you choose AI features, Polyfy processes the messages or other input you submit to provide tutoring, hints, translation and pronunciation feedback. Speaking exercises send audio for transcription; text derived from speech may be used to provide feedback. Please do not submit sensitive personal information in practice messages or recordings.
Services that process information
- Clerk provides sign-in and account management.
- OpenAI processes inputs sent to AI practice features, including audio submitted for transcription and text sent to the tutor. Depending on how the service is configured, requests may pass through Replit’s AI integration before reaching OpenAI.
- Replit hosts the app and its server-side data. The web pages may request fonts from Google Fonts.
Those services have their own privacy practices. This page does not claim control over their independent retention policies.
Retention and deletion
We generally keep your account and associated learning progress while your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing gasindieapps@gmail.com. We will use that request to verify account ownership and coordinate deletion of the data under our control. Provider records or backups may be subject to separate retention requirements.
An in-app “delete account and data” option is planned but is not available yet. Clearing or resetting lesson progress is different from deleting an account. When the in-app option is added, it will warn you before proceeding because deleted account information and progress cannot be recovered through the app.
